Getting ready for the road

To be the best courier you can be, it’s important you have the right equipment. 

Jut Eat will provide you with summer and winter equipment so you are prepared for all seasons. 

You will find here an overview of which type of vehicle you can use, the equipment we provide, our focus on safety and all necessary information for when you’re out making deliveries. 

What equipment do we provide?

Below is a table of all the items we provide and the ones we don’t provide.

An online equipment shop is available for ordering or exchanging your equipment. You’ll receive login details during the hiring process. Certain Couriers working in a city with a Scoober office can exchange clothing directly at the office.

What vehicle can I use and what not?

You can choose your preferred vehicle in the application process. Due to safety and compliance, there are some vehicles that are not allowed. Find more about the application process and how to select your vehicle here.

Below is a list of prohibited bikes: 

Bicycles:

• Cargo bikes

• Tandem bikes

Other vehicle types: 

• Car

• Lorry/ Truck

• E-Trottinette

• Rollerblades

• Public Transport

What is allowed?

• Mountain Bike

• Racing Bike

• E-bike

• Fast e-bike (Max 45 km/h)

• E-Roller (Max 25 km/h)

• Scooter

• Motorcycle 
  

Licence required for each type of vehicle: 

• Yellow number plates M or A1 depending on the vehicle type

• White number plates A1, A- or A

What smartphone can I use?

To use the Scoober app, you must have an Android or iPhone (iOS 10.0 or newer) supporting Google Play Services. It’s also important that you have a powerbank charged throughout your shift so you can access the Scoober app while you’re on the road. 

Best Practices and tips and tricks

Beyond choosing the correct vehicle, you’ll also need enough phone battery when you’re out for delivery. When you start working, it’s important to have at least 80% battery on your smartphone with available data access.

We provide you with safety training, assist you with vehicle checks, support you in case of emergency, monitor weather for safety alerts, and promote healthy work practices to keep you safe on the road.
